WPL 2024: Gujarat Giants won by 19 runs Against RCB

Gujarat Giants secured a 19-run victory over at RCB Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on Wednesday game of Women Premier League 2024. It is finally a win for Gujarat after four straight losses. Gujarat Giants captain Beth Mooney won the toss and elected to bat first against Smriti Mandhana-led side. They stated a big score of 199/5. Though RCB have failed to reach the target.

Batting first Giants captain Mooney played a big role along with Wolvaardt. They put on an opening stand of 140 in just 13 overs. Wolvaardt scored 76 off 45 balls. But then it was a great comeback from RCB bowlers. Though it was a late comeback. GGT scored 199 runs in 20 overs. Mooney was 85 not out off 51 balls. RCB got three run out. Wareham and Molineux each got one wicket.

RCB then had a poor start with the bat. They were 43/2 after 7 overs. It was a big target for them. Despite the superb efforts of Wareham who scored 48 off 22 balls, they never looked like being in the chase. At last their efforts stopped 19 runs short after 20 overs. Ash Gardner was excellent with the ball for Gujarat. He got two wickets while Kathryn Bryce did a good job as well. This is Gujarat’s victory after four straight losses. Still RCB in the second place of the points table.
