IND vs ENG 5th Test Day 2: India lead by 255 runs with Rohit and Shubman’s Century

It was a entertaining day for all the Indian cricket fans. Skipper Rohit (103) and Shubman Gill (110) played beautiful cricket. That led India to get lead by 255 runs over England on Day 2 of the fifth Test at Dharamsala. They shared a stroke-filled 171-run partnership off 244 balls for the second wicket. India reached 473 for eight in their first innings at the end of the second day of the fifth Test on Friday.

Rohit Sharma (103), Shubman Gill (110) made hundreds while Sarfaraz Khan (56) and debutant Devdutt Padikkal (65) ran England ragged on Day 2 of the India vs England 5th Test. Rohit and Gill set the first session on fire with positive cricket. Rohit (103 off 162 balls) and Gill (110 off 150 balls) shared a stroke-filled 171-run partnership off 244 balls for the second wicket. Debutant Devdutt Padikkal (65 off 103) showed a lot of class in his debut innings. Sarfaraz Khan (56 off 60) got set but lost his wicket. India lost as many as five wickets for 97 runs in the final session.

But Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav made unbeaten 45-run stand which dragged England further. Off-spinner Shoaib Bashir (4/170 in 44 overs) and Left-arm spinner Tom Hartley (2/126 in 39) was impressive towards the end of the day. In the afternoon session, Stokes produced a peach that seamed away a touch from good length to dislodge Rohit’s off-stump. In the next over, James Anderson bowled Gill with a beauty that seamed back in. Those were the balls of the Day. Late resistance from Kuldeep Yadav (27 batting) and Jasprit Bumrah (19 batting) to stretch the lead to 255 runs.
