Back to back losses on the road for the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings. They lost to Sunrises Hyderabad by 6 wickets. Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Aiden Markra smashed 78 off the first six overs. That is the turning point when SRH took the game away from CSK.
SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bowl first. Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers restricted CSK to a manageable 165 for 5. Most CSK batters got starts but didn’t go on to play a big knock. Then CSK were at 119/2 in the 14th over. But SRH conceded just 38 runs in the last five overs. Jaydev Unadkat (1/29) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/28) were good with the balls.
During the chase of 166 runs, SRH scored 51 runs in 3.3 overs. They scored the fastest fifty by any team in IPL history. Abhishek Sharma scored 37 off just 12 balls to give SRH a good start. Aiden Markram scored 50 off 36 balls. Travis Head’s 31 off 24 balls also proved to be useful in the final context of the game. They chase off the target in 18.1 over with 6 wickets remaining.
