Biggest buys in the history of Indian Premier League established on IPL Auction 2024. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins go for 24.75 Cr and 20.50 Cr respectively. Kolkata Knight Riders chose Mitchell Starc with a winning bid of Rs 24.75 crore. Australia cricket captain Cummins was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a record price of Rs 20.5 crore.
There was also an intense bidding war for Daryl Mitchell, who was eventually bought by Chennai Super Kings for ₹14 crore. Harshal Patel was acquired by Panjab Kings for ₹11.75 crore. Alzarri Joseph was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for ₹11.50 crore. Australia’s World Cup final hero, Travis Head was also snapped up by Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹6.80 crore.
Another Cricket World Cup star, Rachin Ravindra, was snapped up by CSK for Rs 1.8 crore. Steven Smith, Josh Hazlewood remained unsold. West Indies T20 captain Rovman Powell was sold for a whopping ₹7.40 crore to Rajasthan Royals after a fierce bidding war between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders. Indian pacers Umesh Yadav and Shivam Mavi went for ₹5.8 crore and 6.4 crore respectively to Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants. Harry Brook was snapped up by Delhi Capitals for ₹4 Crore. There was another bidding war for Australia’s Travis Head between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Finally, the World Cup final hero, whose base price was ₹2 crore, was sold for Rs. 6.8 crore to SRH. Gujarat Titans acquired uncapped Australian left-arm pacer Spencer Johnson for 10 crore. Steve Smith, Karun Nair and Manish Pandey did not find any buyer.
