IPL 2024 : Lucknow thumped CSK by 8 wickets

Lucknow Super Giants thumped Chennai Super Kings by 8 wickets in Indian Premier League 2024 match at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. LSG controlled the CSK batting as well to restrict them to 176. Then LSG got the target 6 balls remaining.

Winning the toss KL Rahul opted to bowl first. Rahane (36) opened the innings again with Rachin Ravindra. But the New Zealand batter went with a duck as left-arm pacer Mohsin bowled a perfect first delivery to rattle his stumps. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (17) looked to steady things but could not do much. Ravindra Jadeja, promoted to no. 4. CSK scored 52 for 2 in the first six overs. Jadeja scored 57 not out off 40 balls. Moeen Ali scored 30 off 20 balls. At last Dhoni-storm of 9 ball 28 helped CSK to reach 176 for 6 in 20 overs.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul played 134-run opening partnership with Quinton de Kock. Then LSG comfortably chased down a target of 177 with an over to spare and 8 wickets remaining. Captain KL Rahul scored 82 in 53 balls. Quinton de Kock added 54 runs. Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis put the finishing touches on the game with their unbeaten 23 and 8 run contributions. LSG registered their fourth win of this season.
