IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 7 wickets

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by seven wickets in Indian Premier League 2024 match at RCB home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday. At first Virat Kohli shines with 83 runs and RCB set 182 runs in 20 overs on board. But then Sunil Narine hammered the RCB bowlers. KKR reached the target comfortably in 16.5 overs losing only 3 wickets.

Batting first a superb unbeaten 83 from Virat Kohli and support from Green (33) and Maxwell (28) helped RCB to reach to 182/6 in 20 overs. There was also a breezy cameo from Dinesh Karthik, 20 off 8 balls. KKR bowled superbly on a good pitch. Kohli anchored the RCB innings to reach a decent total. Sunil Narine was most expensive amond the Knight-bowlers, gave 40 runs in 4 overs, picking only wicket as Maxwell.

Chasing 183, KKR came out firing. Sunil Narine hammered 47 off 22 balls. Phil Salt contributed a 20-ball 30. They scored 85 runs in the Power-play toying with the RCB bowling. After power-play KKR lost them both soon. From 92/2, Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer came together to build a partnership of 74 runs for the third wicket. Iyer scored 50 off 30 balls, despite being hampered by back trouble. Shreyas gave him good company, scoring 39 off 24 balls. He finished it off in style sending Mayank Dagar for a six over the midwicket boundary. KKR become the first team to win away from home this season.
