IND vs SA ODI: India Clinch 8-Wicket Win Over South Africa
Team India lead by KL Rahul claimed their victory by 8-wickets over South Africa in first ODI of the series at the Johannesburg on Sunday. Indian bowling attack striked early. Arshdeep Singh had claimed five wickets while Avesh Khan scalped four to skittle out South Africa’s innings for 116 runs. Then Indian batters guided the team towards an uncomfortable victory.
South Africa had won the toss and chose to bat first in the first ODI against the KL Rahul-led Team India. Arshdeep Singh rattles South Africa by taking four wickets in his first spell. He got Reeza Hendricks, Van der Dussen, Tony de Zorzi, Klaasen. He had claimed five Proteas wickets in the match. While Avesh Khan scalped four wickets. Andile Phehlukwayo (33 runs off 49 balls) and Tony de Zorzi (28 off 22) were the top scorers for the proteas. South Africa’s innings skittled out for 116 runs in 27.3 overs.
For India, Sai Sudarshan had made his ODI debut today and slammed 50s along with Shreyas Iyer to guide India past the target of 117 runs. Shreyas departed for a quickfire 52 runs off 45 balls. Sudarshan was unbeaten with 55 runs off 43 balls. India crossed the South African score in 16.4 overs with 8 wickets remaining. Arshdeep Singh awarded as Player of the Match.
