Just four days left before two-match Test series between India and South Africa gets start, former India captain Virat Kohli returned back to India due to family emergency. Not only that! Indian Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad, who failed to recover from his finger injury, has been ruled out of the series. Those are two huge blows for the Indian side.
Kohli departed from SA. But much details on his family emergency has not been confirmed yet. A cricket news website has been informed about that by BCCI sources. They also assured that Kohli will be back in time for the opening test which starts on December 26. Though he will miss the intra-squad match.
On the other hand, Gaikwad got a finger injury during the second ODI match against South Africa. He was ruled out of the third ODI match. Before that match in Paarl, the BCCI statement said, “(He) hasn’t fully recovered from the blow he sustained to his ring finger while fielding in the second ODI. He remains under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team.” Now a BCCI source confirmed PTI that Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the two-Test series with finger injury.
