IND vs ENG Test : Harry Brook withdraws from series against India

India and England will face each other in the upcoming five-match Test Series. From 25th January India will be up against England in the opening match of the contest at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. But England batter Harry Brook will miss the forthcoming Test series against India due to personal reasons. The ECB confirmed that. Dan Lawrence has been named as the replacement for Brook.

The ECB confirmed on its social media channels on Sunday that Harry Brook would return to the UK from Abu Dhabi where the touring squad has been training ahead of the series. ECB release stated, “Harry Brook is set to return home with immediate effect for personal reasons from the England Men’s Test tour of India. He will not be returning to India.” “The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this time. In light of this, the ECB and the family kindly request the media and the public to respect their wish for privacy and refrain from intruding on their private space.”

Dan Lawrence has been named as the replacement for Brook. He is set to join the squad at Abu Dhabi with in 24 hours. Experts are saying that England will definitely feel the absence of Brook. The 24-year-old Yorkshire batsman has so far played 12 Tests making 1181 runs at an average of 61 with four hundreds and seven fifties. He was particularly excellent on England’s tour of Pakistan. He was the player of the series scoring 468 runs from five innings at an average of 93.60.
