IND vs ENG 5th Test: India won by an innings and 64 runs

India defeated England by an innings and 64 runs in the fifth and final Test in Dharamsala on Saturday. Ravichandran Ashwin picked a match haul of nine wickets. While India slammed 477 on the first innings, England batters once again collapsed on their secend innings scoring 195. Joe Root (84) is highest scorer for them.

After Friday’s brilliant performance India got all out on 477 in 124.1 overs early on Saturday. England’s veteran seamer James Anderson picked his 700th Test Wicket this morning. But England batters once again collapsed short. Playing his 100th Test, Ashwin made sure it would be a memorable one. He got 4 wickets in first innings. Then he added five wickets in the second innings, picking total 9 wickets in the match. Joe Root (84) and Jonny Bairstow (39) were the most advertising for them. Kuldeep Yadav takes the final wicket in form of Joe Root as England fold for 195 in their second essay. India thrash England by an innings and 64 runs.

After Kuldeep Yadav fifer and Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill tons in the first innings, R Ashwin starred in the second in his 100th Test, grabbing a fifer. Root (84) fought a lone battle before getting dismissed ahead of the tea break. The hosts demolished England inside three days in Dharamsala securing a 4-1 series win. Kuldeep Yadav awarded as player of the match and Yashasvi Jaiswal announced as Player of the Series.
