AUS vs IND : Axar and Arshdeep Guide India to Win the 5th T20I by 6 runs

India finished the series with a win in the fifth and final T20I in Bengaluru against Australia. They marginalised Aussies with 4-1 result in 5 matches T20I series. Arshdeep Singh held his nerve under pressure in the final over and defended 9 runs, winning by 6 runs in the 5th T20I against Australia.

India had managed to score 160 runs batting first at Bengaluru with Shreyas Iyer top scoring with 53. Axar Patel (31), Jitesh Sharma (24) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (21) also helped the Indian Score. After Wade had won the toss and opted to bowl first at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, the Indian team was 55 for 4 at one stage. Then Shreyas Iyer played his important innings, 55 runs off 37 balls. Jitesh Sharma also played a crucial role with 24 off 16 balls. They formed 42 runs partnership on 5th wicket.

Batting second Australia lost Philippe early. But Australia got a great start scoring 40 runs off the first four overs. Then Ravi Bishnoi castled the dangerman Travis Head. Axar broke Tim David (17) and Ben McDermott (54 off 36 balls) 47 runs partnership by getting David out. He finished with impressive figures of 4-0-14-1. Then Arshdeep Singh got Ben. Mukesh Kumar bowled a superb 17th over where he picked back-to-back wickets. The visitors needed 10 off the final over. Arshdeep bowled superbly, getting Wade’s (22 off 15 balls) wicket and giving away just three runs to take India towards victory.
