At last Royal Challengers Bengaluru got their long awaited victory. They won by 35 runs against SRH. RCB set a target of 207 for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to chase. SRH scored 171 for 8 in 20 overs. RCB clinched their second victory of the season after 25th March.
Batting first Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a formidable total of 206 for 7 in 20 overs. Patidar, scoring 50 off just 20 deliveries, played a pivotal role in his 65-run partnership with Kohli, who crafted 51 off 43 balls. Cameron Green (37 not out off 20) and Swapnil Singh (12 off 6) contributed crucial runs in the death overs. For SRH, Jaydev Unadkat (3/30) claimed three wickets, while T Natarajan got 2 and Mayank Markande got 1 wicket.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) got early shock at the time of chase. SRH have lost four wickets in the powerplay for the first time this season. RCB opened the bowling with Will Jacks against the destructive left-handed opening duo. Travis Head (1) fell in the first over. Yash Dayal got Abhishek Sharma in the fourth over after a quick 31 off 13 balls. Markram then fell in the fifth over to debutant Swapnil Singh and Heinrich Klaasen fell off the last ball of that over. The collapse continued for SRH. Shahbaz Ahmed scored 40 not out off 37 balls. Skipper Pat Cummins scored 31 off 15. They managed to reach 171/8 in 20 overs, losing the game by 35 runs.
