Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were expecting their second child which has led to the Indian batter missing the first 2 Tests against England. This news has been confirmed by Virat’s close friend The South African batter AB de Villiers.
Previously the BCCI informed that Virat Kohli has withdrawn from the first two Tests against England on January 22 due to personal reasons. Since then, there were widespread rumours circulating on the internet regarding his absence. India already lost the first test of the series at Hyderabad. Finally, AB de Villiers has revealed the real reason behind Kohli’s absence.
During a live session on his YouTube channel AB de Villiers said, “I did text him, I did hear from him, I cannot give you too much information. All I know is that he’s fine and spending a bit of time with his family that’s the reason for missing the first few Test matches. I’m not gonna confirm anything else, unfortunately. But I would love to see him back, I cannot wait to see him back whichever form or way. But he’s fine, he’s happy.”
Then AB added, “Yes, his second child is on the way, it’s family time. You cannot judge Virat for that, and yes we miss him but he’s made the right decision. We wish him all the very best for the great blessing of being able to become a father for the second time and All the Best to Anushka as well.”
